IN HONOR OF M. EUGENE BRIEUX

Eugene Brieux, one of the greatest contemporary French dramatists and a member of the Academy of France, will be given a reception by the Cercle Francais in the club room, Grays 17, next Thursday evening at 7.30 o'clock. M. Brieux is widely known in this country and abroad not only as a dramatist of the first rank but for his keen interest in every branch of social reform. He has used the stage as many men use the pulpit or lecture room, and he has used it with far greater effect. Some of his best known plays are "La Robe Rouge," "Simone," "Les Avarieux," and "Les Trois Filles de M. Dupont."

M. Brieux will give a lecture at the Alliance Francaise of Boston on Thursday afternoon. His subject will be "The Point of View of the Theatre." The reception on Thursday evening will be open to members of the Cercle and the Dramatic Club.
