Cornell Wins by Small Margin

The dual swimming meet between Harvard and Cornell, held last night in the Boston Y. M. C. A., resulted in a well-earned victory for Cornell. The first event was the relay race which proved very exciting, as Kohn of Cornell defeated our last man, Fullerton, by only a fraction of a second. In the 200-yard race Fullerton won easily, but there was a close fight for second place between Starbuck and Kohn, which the former won after a beautiful spurt at the finish. In the 50-yard event Wentworth won a well-earned race from Bowers of Cornell.

Pickernell proved the star of the evening when he made a plunge of 62 feet, ten feet better than Starbuck who was second. In the 100-yard race Eisele of Cornell won handily by about five yards.

In the Freshman meet with Mechanics Arts High School, Russell Dean of Mechanics Arts easily proved the star, winning four events and just losing his relay race by a few yards.
