PRACTICE FAST BUT RAGGED

Freshmen Show Superior Form and Defeat University Team.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The University hockey team was defeated by the Freshmen in the half-hour's ragged scrimmage at the Arena yesterday afternoon. Harris for the Freshmen made the only score. A marked lack of team work was shown by the University seven. The forwards were individually aggressive but failure to keep in line or to gage the direction of their passes made their attack weak and ineffective. There were several good shots made, but in general the men failed to carry the puck past the Freshman defense or to get off their shots in time. The University defense, however, proved strong against the fast attack of the Freshmen. A few days' practice should steady the team down and turn their new energy into aggressive and concerted team-play.
