CREWS TO HAVE NEW SHELL

The management has recently ordered a new eight-oared shell from George Sims & Sons, of Putney, London, the famous English boat-builders. The shell cost about $800. Her lines are identical with those of last year's eight, which differed from the boat used in 1910 only in a slight change in the camber, or longitudinal curve of the bottom.

The boat will arrive about the first of May and will be tried out soon after. The Freshman crew will probably use last year's University boat.

In addition to the new eight, a number of the old boats have been repaired during the winter, and several new single skulls constructed. The single shells cost about $150 apiece to build.

Short Rows Yesterday.

Practice for the crews yesterday afternoon consisted of only a short row for the first four University and two Freshman crews, because of ice in the river and the snow storm. Several shifts were made in crews B and C which resulted as follows: Chichester went to 2 on Crew C, Busk moving to stroke; Saltonstall moved to bow on B in place of Herrick, who went to C, and Lund was in at stroke on B.
