FORMER COLLEGE STARTS ON ICE

The University hockey team will play probably the hardest game on its schedule at the Arena this evening with the strong St. Nicholas seven of New York. This will be the last game that the University will play at the Arena and the last time H.A.H. Baker, Princeton '14, will be seen in Boston this season. The St. Nicholas team, although it has been defeated by the B.A.A. seven, is one of the strongest amateur aggregations ever seen in this country and with Baker, undoubtedly the greatest player in America, it should be able to win from the University tonight. However, the Harvard team is in excellent condition and is playing better hockey than ever before this season. Furthermore it is extremely doubtful if the St. Nicholas defense is superior to Captain Claflin, Morgan, and Wylde and defensive play will count heavily in tonight's contest.

W. A. Willetts '14, captain of last year's University team, will play coverpoint on the visiting seven, and G. M. Carnochan '14, goal on Willetts's team will be the goal-tend. Both these players are too well known to need mention here. Baker, at rover, was captain of the 1912-1913 Princeton team and also played on last year's championship seven. Kilner, the right wing, also played on the 1913-14 Princeton team. Cox, whose brilliancy at left wing in last Wednesday's St. Nicholas. Creascents game nearly outshone Baker, is a former Yale player. Ellis at centre also comes from Yale. Trimble has been playing amateur hockey for several years and is a clever defensive man.

The two teams will probably line up tonight as follows: UNIVERSITY.  ST. NICHOLAS. Townsend, l.w.  r.w., Kilner. Doty, l.c.  r., Baker. Phillips, r.c.  c., Ellis Baldwin, r.w.  l.w., Cox. Clafin, c.p.  c.p., Willetts. Morgan, P.  p., Trimble. Wylde, g.  g., Carnochan.

Substitutes Tied B.A.A.

The University hockey team had no practice yesterday but the substitutes were sent against the B.A.A. seven at the Arena in a reduced rink for 25 minutes. The contest resulted in a 3 to 3 tie, the second-string men showing very good form. Baker, Clark and Harte were particularly noticeable.
