Although the College will not open next fall until September 27, the training for two sports will be well under way by that time. The football men will be the first to return to Cambridge, all candidates reporting to Coach Haughton and Captain E. W. Mahan '16 on Soldiers Field, Monday, September 13. While the first few practice sessions will be light, rigorous training will begin at once. This will give two weeks' practice before the opening game on the schedule with Colby on September 25.
Monday, September 20, is the date set by Captain R. T. Twitchell '16, of the cross-country team, for all long distance men to report. Coach Alfred Shrubb will be on hand to start the men on the long stretch of work before the race with Cornell.
Both the football and cross-country teams lose heavily through graduation, and the early training periods will be of unusual importance this year, and as a result all candidates for either team should not fail to report at the times set.
