BOARD TRACK READY FOR USE

Lack of Shot-Putters and High Jumper Among those Practising.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The board track on Soldiers Field has been laid and is ready for use today Practice for the runners will be voluntary until Christmas but Coach Denovan will be on the field every afternoon at 3 o'clock to assist those who report Regular work and training will start immediately after the vacation.

The hurdlers and weight event men have been reporting for voluntary practice in the baseball cage during the past week. There is no one out for the short put who can make a greater distance than 36 feet and no high-jumper who can go above five feet eight inches, so that there is a good opportunity for other men to report. Dr. Morrill will be in the cage to coach the weight event men between 2.30 and 5 o'clock today.
