Harvard Students To Vote on Divestment From Israel in Inaugural HUA Election Survey
The University swimming team lost to Amherst 39 to 14 in the Boston Y. M. C. A. pool last Saturday. Amherst succeeded in getting five firsts out of six events, and her team was consistently strong throughout. M. Blanchard '18 won the dive, W. V. B. Teazer (Amherst) coming in a close second.
The Amherst relay team proved to be a well-balanced group, overcoming a substantial lead and enabling the last man, T. H. Nelligan, to finish far ahead of the University opponent. In the 220-yard swim the time was excellent, T. H. Nelligan (Amherst) finishing first in two minutes and 53 seconds.
The summary of events is as follows:
Relay.--Won by Amherst, M. E. Baker, C. J. Jessup, N. R. Lemcke, T. H. Nelligan.
50-yard dash.--Won by T. H. Nelligan (Amherst); second, N. R. Lemcke (Amherst); third, J. A. Machado, Jr., '17.
100-yard dash.--Won by N. R. Lemcke (Amherst); second, C. J. Jessup (Amherst); third, J. A. Machado, Jr., '17.
220-yard swim.--Won by T. H. Nelligan (Amherst); second, H. Wentworth '17; third, M. E. Baker (Amherst).
Dive.--Won by M. Blanchard '18; second, W. V. B. Bayer (Amherst); third, K. F. Jackson '17.
Plungo.--Won by B. Miller (Amherst); second, A. Dixon '16; third, W. Michener (Amherst).
