The new Graduate Cup for the winner of the Interdormitory Hockey series has been engraved and will be placed in the Common Room at Smith Halls this afternoon or Monday. This trophy will be competed for annually and will remain as the property of the dormitory winning it for one year. The cup, given by a large number of graduates, will take the place of the individual cups which were last year awarded to the members of the winning team. The cup is made of silver, and is about ten inches high. The names of the players and manager of this year's winning Smith team have been engraved on one of the panels.

This is only the second year of Freshman Interdormitory Hockey, and it has thus far proved a great success. It was President Lowell's idea to interest the Freshmen in some sort of within-the-class athletics, and this year a considerably larger number of men reported for interdormitory hockey than last year.

At the first meeting on January 13, 57 candidates reported for the three teams. Murray Taylor '18 coached Smith, B. B. Williams ocC. coached Gore, and T. H. White '17 Standish. R. S. Worthly '19 was elected captain of Gore, H. Fiske '19 captain of Standish, and A. W. French '19 captain of Smith.

A series of four games ended with Smith in the lead, having taken the deciding game of the series with Gore by a score of 7 to 1.

Interdormitory hockey has proved its value in several different ways. It has more than fulfilled President Lowell's expectations as a means for developing a class unity through games between the various dormitories, and as a means for furnishing beneficial exercise for the members of the entering class. And it has also proved a great aid to the success of the University and Second Hockey teams by developing men for them.
