PUTNAM WON UNIVERSITY FENCING CHAMPIONSHIP

G. H. Code Secured Novice and Crimmins Won Freshman Title in Living Room of Union.

T. J. Putnam ocC. won the University fencing championship, G. H. Code '18 captured the Novice, and R. G. Crimmins '19 won the Freshman championship in the tournaments held in the Union last evening. An unusual feature of the bouts was the victory of R. G. Crimmins '19 over E. R. Gay '19 in the Freshman tournament, followed by Gay's win over Crimmins in Novice championship bouts. In all three championships the titles were closely contested. F. S. Damon '14 acted as judge, while Coach Leslabay directed the bouts.

Following are the complete results:

University championship--G. H. Code '18 defeated P. K. Rhinelander '18, 5-3; T. J. Putnam ocC. defeated E. P. Hamilton '18, 5-4.

Novice championship.--E. R. Gay '19 defeated R. G. Crimmins '19, 6-3; E. P. Hamilton '18 defeated P. K. Rhinelander '18, 6-5; G. H. Code '18 defeated P. K. Rhinelander '18, 11-8.

Freshman championship.--R. G. Crimmins '19 defeated E. R. Gay '19, 10-8.
