FAST SCRIMMAGE FOR SEVEN

REGULARS BLANKED SUBSTITUTES IN ARENA AND SCORED 5 GOALS.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

In the best practice it has had this season, the University hockey team scrimmaged the substitutes yesterday afternoon and won a practice game by the large score of 5 to 0. The showing of every member of the regular team was a great improvement over that of Monday. The team work was good, in spite of the bad ice, the most noticeable change being in the passing of G. Townsend '17 who made up for his previous off days by passing continually, consistently, and accurately.

Of the five goals scored, two were credited to G. A. Percy '18, one to T. H. Rice '17 and two to G. Townsend '17. The first of Percy's tallies came toward the beginning of the scrimmage as the result of some fast passing by all the members of the forward line. His second was scored on a rebound from the backboard of the shortened rink. Townsend obtained both his goals on beautiful long shots after passes from Captain Morgan and Percy respectively. Rice slipped the puck past the goal tender after it had bounded back from his shin-guards.

There were several changes in the line-up of team B. R. Baldwin '17 was the only member of the forward line to hold his position, for shifts were made in all of the other three. W. W. Rice '18 replaced W. O. Morgan '18 at left wing, and H. M. Bliss '17 took the place of R. H. Kissel '19 at the other extremity of the line. E. B. Condon '18 moved up to right centre, displacing T. K. Fisher '17. One change was also made in the defence, for A. W. Gardner '18 was put in at coverpoint for T. H. Eckfeldt '17.

After this 20-minute scrimmage with the substitutes, the University team played the B. A. A. seven a very evenly matched game for 10 minutes, during which neither side was able to score. The showing against the B. A. A. was especially pleasing, for the latter team was fresh while the University seven was tired by the hard game with team B.

The new line-ups of teams A and B were as follows: TEAM A  TEAM B Townsend, r.w.  l.w., W. Rice Percy, r.c.  l.c., Baldwin Baker, l.c.  r.c., Condon T. Rice, l.w.  r.w., Bliss White, c.p.  c.p., Gardner J. Morgan, p.  p., Appleton Abbot, g.  g., Wylde
