GLEE CLUBS OF UNIVERSITY AND RADCLIFFE TO GIVE OPERA IN DECEMBER.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Plans have been definitely completed for the joint production of an opera by the Radcliffe Choral Society and the University Glee Club. The opera to be rendered is "Iolanthe" by Gilbert and Sullivan, who became famous as the originators of modern light opera.

The work is to be presented at three performances, two evenings and one afternoon, all to take place at the Agassiz House at Radcliffe. The evening performances will be held Friday and Saturday, December 7 and 8 with the matinee Saturday, December 8.

The whole production of the opera is to be in the hands of Dr. A. T. Davison '06, director of the University's singing activities. He has already selected the soloists for the opera from the leaders of the Choral Society and the Glee Club. The chorus will be picked from the two organizations later in the fall. Rehearsals will start soon and continue until December.
