ST. MARK'S SCHOLARSHIP WON EXAMINATION TROPHY

Five Honor Men Earned Phi Beta Kappa Prize Held by Springfield High School.

The Interscholastic Scholarship Trophy of the University Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa, which is annually awarded to the preparatory school whose candidates for admission have made the best record at the entrance examinations, has been given this year to the St. Mark's School at Southborough. Of the 20 St. Mark's men who took the examinations, five appear on the honor list. The names of the honor candidates are:

Porter Ralph Chandler, of Geneseo, N. Y.; George Gardner Monks, of Boston; *Lawrence Bowring Stoddard, Jr., of New York, N. Y.; *James Appleton Thayer, of Southborough; James Bradley Thayer, of Boston.

The trophy has been held for the last two years by the Central High School at Springfield. It was first awarded by the University Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa in 1915.
