DEMOBILIZATION COMPLETED

LAST MEMBERS OF UNIVERSITY SERVICE UNITS HAVE LEFT.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

With the discharge tomorrow of the headquarters company of the S. A. T. C., the last of the service units will have left the University. Some of the officers attached to headquarters will remain for a few days, however, in order to complete the necessary work in connection with the demobilization of the unit.

With the exception of a few men still in the hospital, the entire Marine Unit as well as the 200 remaining members of the Naval Unit were discharged on Monday. The officers of both of these units expect to be gone by tomorrow night. Davis Merwin '21, is the only member of the Marine Unit who has not been discharged. The reason for this is that he has not yet fully recovered from a combined attack of influenza, pleurisy, and pneumonia. He will be discharged shortly, but will not return to College until the fall.

The final examination for the members of the Junior S. A. T. C., or Military Science D, was held on Monday morning. The men have been turning in their uniforms and equipment this week, and everything must be in by tomorrow noon. All the members of the company gathered in Lieutenant Daniel's room last Saturday morning, and presented the lieutenant with a gold cigarette-case in appreciation of his work here with the company. Lieutenant Daniel left for his home in North Carolina on Monday.

Lieutenant M. W. Vedder, commandant of the Marine Section, was presented with a solid gold watch by his men, while the student sailors gave Ensign J. G. Alley, executive officer of the Naval Unit, another.

The non-commissioned officers of the different units were also remembered by the men.
