CANDIDATES FOR 1921 RED BOOK COMMENCE COMPETITION

FINANCE COMMITTEE MEETS

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Work for the 1921 Red Book will get under way this evening at 7.30 o'clock when the candidates for the business, art and editorial departments of the publication will meet in the Standish Hall Common Room. Plans will be outlined and the chairmen of the various departments will announce the future meeting places of the men under their direct supervision. This is the only Freshman literary competition and will afford excellent experience for those who intend to try out for College publications next year. It will last from six to eight weeks. Inasmuch as 130 men reported last year, it is expected that a good number will be on hand tonight. The Red Book is of particular importance this year, as the war may prevent any further complete record of the class after this year.

The members of the Freshman finance committee will also meet in the Standish Hall Common Room tonight at 7 o'clock. The campaign will be outlined for the competition, which will last but one week. The committee will be organized on a competitive basis; those men who are most successful in canvassing the class will be appointed sub-chairmen, and the leading contestant will be made chairman to succeed J. A. Sessions '21, who is at present chairman ex officio. At the end of the competition, the direction of the committee will be put in the hands of these chairmen.
