At a meeting of the Memorial Society in the Union last Tuesday evening new members from the Senior and Junior classes were elected to the society, and plans for the coming year were discussed and formulated. This dinner, the first that the society has held since the war, was attended by a total of twenty members, fourteen undergraduates and six graduates.

Dean C. N. Greenough '98, a former officer of the society, was the chief speaker of the evening. That the work of the Memorial Society is vitally important to the University was his main point. "The University expects this work from the Society, and it must be kept up. I am delighted to see that undergraduate interest is again aroused to the necessity of the work.

"The Memorial Society is composed of those of us in the University who are, so to speak, historically-minded. Few men know or care about the history of Harvard or treasure its traditions--the men who make up this society and carry on its good work are those few among us who can name two presidents of the University who served before President Eliot."

At the business meeting which followed the dinner Y. H. Buhler '20 was appointed to the position of Archivist to take care of the records of the Society. Buhler was also made a member of the committee to investigate the placing of tablets and the other duties of the Society for the year. The other men on this committee are J. U. Nef '20 and W. McH. Keyser '20.
