STUDENT DELEGATES SELECTED

57 NAMES ON LIST OF MEN WHO WILL ATTEND CONVENTION AT DES MOINES.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Fifty-seven delegates will represent the University at the Des Moines Convention commencing on December 31. From a great number of men who signified their desire to attend, the committee in charge of the convention at the University had to narrow the number of delegates to 57. This was necessary because of the tremendous number of institutions throughout the country which are sending delegates to the conventions. Over 8000 are expected as things stand now, and many, colleges have shown such enthusiasm that they have asked to have their quota doubled if possible. But two causes render such double representation impracticable: the size of the Convention Hall at Des Moines and the incapacity of the town to put up such an army of delegates for five days.

Of the undergraduates representing the University, only those who are on the Dean's list and students in the Graduates Schools will be allowed to stay the full five days, from December 31 to January 4 inclusive. All others will have to return to College in time for their first lecture on January 5.
