F.W.HUNNEWELL '02 IS NEW SECRETARY TO CORPORATION

Roger Pierce '04, Secretary to the Corporation of the College has resigned and F. W. Hunnewell '02, comptroller of the University, who left last March for Washington to associate himself with the Committee on Education and Special Training in the War Department, will take his place. After an absence of eleven months Mr. Hunnewell has now returned and in addition to his former duties will assume those of Secretary to the Corporation. The resignation is to take effect on February 15. Mr. Pierce leaves the University to accept the position of Vice-President of the New England Trust Company of Boston.

Mr. Pierce has held the position of Secretary to the Corporation since the autumn of 1914. He is also Business Director of the Medical School, Trustee of the Boston Home for Incurables, member of the Board of Managers of the Farm and Trade School and Treasurer and Trustee of Milton Academy. Previous to 1914 Mr. Pierce was Secretary of the Alumni Association.

The following new appointments were made by the Corporation at its meeting last Monday:

Edward P. T. Pousland '14 as Instructor in French; Ashbury H. Herrick '05 as Instructor in French; Edwin B. Place as Instructor in French; Julius S. Hoffman as Instructor in Mathematics; Rexford Tucker '18 as Instructor in Mathematics; Lester R. Ford '13 as Instructor in Mathematics; Allen French '94 as Instructor in English; Percy W. Long '98 as Instructor in English; Rufus S. Tucker '11 as Instructor in Economics.

The following awards of scholarships were made:

Langdell Scholarship to Burke Shartell Gr. L.; Faculty Scholarship to Otto C. Stegeman 2L.; Harvard Club of Michigan Scholarship to H. B. Walker '22; Harvard Club of Cincinnati Scholarship to R. A. Lyon '22; Murphy Scholarship to Clifton Murphy 3L.; Architectural Scholarship to A. C. McGiffert, Jr., Gr. Dv., W. A. Shimer, 1 Dv., D. Ting, Gr. Dv., R. A. C. Cutting, Gr.Dv., and L. Harbata, 3Dv
