PRODUCE "CROWNS AND CLOWNS" DURING APRIL

MANAGEMENT ANNOUNCED

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

"Crowns and Clowns," a comedy in three acts written by C. LaFarge '20, E. A. Bacon '20, H. H. F. Jayne '20, and E. Scott '20 has been decided upon as the annual spring production of the Hasty Pudding Club. As in previous years these theatricals will take the form of a light musical comedy. An unusually melodious score has been composed by F. W. hatch '19, and in addition several of Samuel Sears' more tuneful songs from "Barnum Was Right," the show whose presentation last year was prevented by the war, will be used.

Plot Centres About Boishevik Prince.

The plot of the comedy is developed around the rise and fall of a Bolshevik prince, who usurps the throne of the Kingdom of Ptomainia, only to lose his insecure seat later, because of his tyranical mismanagement of the affairs of that worthy empire. The action is divided into three acts and five scenes, entitled respectively, "The Day Before Yesterday," "Yesterday," "Today," "Tomorrow," and "The Day After Tomorrow."

J. B. Haviland Engaged as Coach.

Mr. J. B. Haviland, of Boston, has been engaged to coach the acting and singing. Work has already been commenced, and the cast will be announced at an early date.

As in former years performances will be given in Cambridge at the Hasty Pudding Theatre on April 16 and 17; at the Hotel Astor in New York City on the afternoon and evening of April 19; and in Boston on Friday and Saturday evening, the twenty-fifth and twenty-sixth of April. The club has announced the following management for these theatricals: G. A. Brownell '19, manager, P. Zach '19, advertising manager, G. C. Barclay '19, publicity manager, and E. W. Pavenstedt '20, ticket manager, R. McA. Lloyd, stage manager.
