RECORD GRADUATE ENROLMENT

LAW, BUSINESS, AND MEDICAL SCHOOLS BESIEGED BY NEW STUDENTS.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Reports of registration from the Graduate Schools of the University show an unusually large attendance this year. According to present figures, seven hundred and sixty-three men are enrolled in the Law School. Of these, more than half, or 412, are in their first year, 185 are second year men, and 128 third year men. Thirty are unclassified students, one is a special student and seven are completing graduate work.

The first year class which includes men from most of the larger colleges, contains more men than ever before in the history of the school. Up to this year the record first-year class was that of 1916-17, which contained 134 men.

Reception Tonight.

This evening at 8 o'clock all members of the Law School will be welcomed at the annual reception to law students in Peabody Hall, Phillips Brooks House. Both first year students and old men are invited to the meeting, which will be entirely informal.

The principal address of the evening will be made by President Lowell who will welcome the new students. Speeches will also be made by Dean Roscoe Pound and Professor A. W. Scott, LLB. '04, after which refreshments will be served.

Business School Breaks Record.

The Graduate School of Business Administration also reports a larger total enrolment than ever in the eight years of its existence. Three hundred and thirty-three students have registered, an increase of more than 100 over those of any year since the founding of the school. Two hundred and fifty-three men are entering their first year, 60 are second year men, six are unclassified students, and 14 are special students. Several corporations of Boston and other cities are sending men to the School to study modern methods of business organization and administration.

Medical Registration 394.

The registration in the Medical School after the second day of the year is as follows: first year men, 109; second year men, 83; third year men, 100; fourth year men, 102. It is expected that more men will enter both first and third year courses. The registration total of 394 is higher than the School has known for many years. Last year's enrolment was 375 and that of the year before, only 326:

The numbers in the Medical School are strictly limited, and only a fraction of all the applicants are accepted.
