Excellent Defense of Freshman Players Keeps Visitors' Score Low.

In a practice game yesterday the 1923 basketball team defeated Wentworth Institute 34-19 at the Freshman Gymnasium. The Wentworth players were unable to penetrate the excellent defense put up by the yearling guards and were therefore forced to try long shots. D. F. Egan and J. M. Hartley were the Freshman defense stars, while the Crimson forwards were about equally matched in clever shooting and passing. Waltstonholme was the heavy scorer for the Institute.
