The first course for the training of teachers of the blind and workers with the blind that has ever been given by an American university will open this afternoon at the Graduate School of Education.
The course, which will have its first meeting at Lawrence Hall at 3.30, is attracting interest throughout this country and Canada. Sixty men and women have already enrolled with Miss L. S. Rand, Executive Secretary of the Course. One woman has come all the way from Minnesota and another from Indiana to give all their time for several months to the course.
Lectures on the whole field of work with the blind will be given by authorities on the subject, and there will be opportunities for intensive training in the various institutions for the blind in and about Boston.
