Professor William Bennett Munro, Ph.D., '00, will open the Election Returns meeting in the Living Room of the Union tonight at 7.30 with a short address on the salient features of the current presidential campaign.
Another feature of tonight's meeting at the Union will be the program of popular music to be given by the University Band, which will play at intervals from the beginning of the meeting until 11 o'clock. The Union will be open all night and returns will be announced as late as members may care to wait for them. Light refreshments will be served as ordered up to the regular closing time of the Union and the Living Room will be arranged so that members may lounge and smoke while the returns are being compiled.
The special wire, which will bring the complete returns from all over the country, has been installed and will be in charge tonight of expert Western Union operators. This line is connected with the main Boston office of the Western Union, where the returns from the combined Associated Press and Western Union country-wide service are manifolded and sent out all over New England. The Union will be the only place in Cambridge where these complete returns will be announced.
