At the 13th annual games of the Millrose A. A., held last evening at Madison Square Garden, New York, the University relay team finished second. The team was composed of Captain D. F. O'Connell '21, W. H. Goodwin '20, J. A. McCarthy '22 and B. Wharton '22. This was the only event in which the University was represented.

The race was won by Princeton in the time of 3 minutes, 36 1-5 seconds. The other teams represented in the race were Columbia and New York University.

The outcome of the race was doubtful at first, but when O'Connell took the baton he was quite a distance behind the Tiger runner and although he ran a fine race he was unable to overcome the Princeton man's lead and finished 10 yards behind.

Only eight candidates reported for the competition for second assistant manager of track yesterday and more are needed. The positions of second assistant track manager and assistant cross-country manager are both awarded as a result of this competition, so that an unusual opportunity is offered to candidates.

On last Monday the track management sent to every man who has reported for University or Freshman track within the last two years a letter asking him to come out for it this spring. The body of the letter is as follows:

"Harvard must have more men in every field and track event. Cornell develops the strongest track team in the country from a squad of 350 men. Frankly, this means that without the support of every Harvard man we cannot hope to develop a successful team.

"Last May Yale sent up a Freshman track team which was actually twice the size of our whole Freshman squad. They beat us 78 1-2 to 38 1-2. The trouble was not with our team; it was with the men who did not come out for the team.

"We cannot beat Yale on the courageous effort of the 'other fellow.' Success this year depends upon your interest, your aid, your co-operation.
