Fifty years ago Christopher Columbus Langdell '51 instituted the case system in the Harvard Law School. In commemoration of this event the Law Review will publish a Langdell number for its February issue.
Judge F. G. Fessenden '72 of the Boston Supreme Court, who was a member of Langdell's first class, has written an article telling of the opposition which the case system met when it was first introduced and of its final triumph. President Charles W. Eliot '53 has also contributed an article on "Langdell and the Law School." In addition to these two features there are the usual articles and a hitherto unpublished photograph of Christopher Langdell.
The number will go on sale within a few days.
