Beginning next Monday Professor R. H. Lord '06 will open his course in general Russian history, History 15, as a half-course for the second half year. Owing to the great significance of recent events in Russia, Professor Lord plans to devote especial attention to the modern phases of the question. During last term he had reached the end of the reign of Catherine the Great in 1796. By speeding up in the early part of next semester, he hopes to devote at least the last six weeks to developments in Russian History during the twentieth century.
History 15 has always been a whole course heretofore. The decision of Professor Lord to open it to students after mid-years came as a result of undergraduate interest in the subject as manifested during the fall term. If a large enough number of students enroll for History 15 as a half-course this spring, a more comprehensive treatment of the Russian Revolution will possibly be given next year. Should interest continue at the present high pitch, an effort will be made to devote a special course to the subject.
History 15 is open this spring to all undergraduates who have had History 1 or its equivalent.
