NEW SYSTEM PLANNED FOR TRACK

When the candidates for the University and 1923 track teams start spring practice at Soldiers Field Monday, the squads will be divided into groups, according to events, with a group captain as leader. Each group will receive special coaching from the captain as well as from the coaches. In addition to this extra coaching, many innovations are planned, such as running before mirrors to develop action, high speed, moving pictures slowed down to show hurdling style, etc., special exercises to develop form, a system whereby each man will receive a daily rule, the rehearsing of meets in miniature, and the teaching of events by watching champions who will be brought to the Stadium to perform. Thus the technique of the game--the all important factor--will be added to the remarkable training ability of Coach Donovan.
