LONGWOOD BEATS TENNIS TEAM

In their last match preceding the Yale contest on Saturday, the University tennis sextet was defeated by the Longwood Cricket Club yesterday, 6-2, on the club's courts at Longwood. The Crimson racqueters won two of the five singles matches, while the clubmen captured all four of the doubles. Captain G. W. Helm '20, in the first contest of the afternoon, was defeated by Dabney, playing No. 1 on the Longwood team, in two spectacular sots. J. B. Fenno Jr. '21 was also beaten by H. Bundy, the fast Brookline player. L. A. deTurenne '21 and D. P. Robinson Jr. '20, however, gained victories, each after two hard sets. In the doubles the individual scores were much closer than the total, two long deuce sets being played. Wright of the Longwood team especially starred for his club.

Singles--Dabney (Longwood) defeated Helm (Harvard), 6-4, 6-3; deTurenne (Harvard) defeated Wheelwright (Longwood), 6-3, 2-6, 6-4; Bundy (Longwood) defeated Fenno (Harvard), 6-3, 6-2; Robinson (Harvard) defeated Foster (Longwood), 6-3, 6-4; Taylor (Longwood) defeated R. N. Bradley '22 (Harvard), 6-2, 6-4.

Doubles--Bishop and Wright (Longwood) defeated Helm and deTurenne (Harvard), 6-3, 6-2; Dabney and Wheelwright (Longwood) defeated C. H. Hyams 3d. '21 and Fenno (Harvard), 8-6, 6-4; Bidwell and Porter (Longwood) defeated W. W. Rowe '20 and Robinson (Harvard), 7-5, 6-1.
