UNIVERSITY SECOND CREW IS FOURTH IN AMERICAN HENLEY

In the race held last Saturday on the Schuylkill River between the Second University eight, the Annapolis Plebes, Syracuse, Princeton and the first Union Boat Club crew, the Crimson eight finished fourth, leading the Boston crew across the finish line. In this contest, the Junior collegiate race, Annapolis and Syracuse were the chief rivals, as they were bow and bow when only a quarter of a mile from the finish; the Navy, however, managed to draw a little ahead in that distance, and was two-fifths of a second ahead of Syracuse at the finish. Princeton was a length behind the second crew and the University came in fourth.

William C. Chanler 1G.B., who rowed against Yale in the second University boat last year, was the victor in the Junior single sculls race, making the time of 8 minutes 15 seconds.

Exeter Wins Eight-Oar Race

Only one race of the annual spring regatta was held last Saturday, that one being the contest between first school eights. Exeter, with one of the best schoolboy crews that has rowed on the Charles for some time, won that event, making the fast time of 5 minutes 21 seconds over the mile course from Cottage Farm Bridge to the Harvard Bridge. There were four schools entered in the race, Exeter, Brookline High, Huntington and Noble and Greenough. Exeter finished three lengths ahead of Brookline, who finished second, while Noble and Greenough and Huntington, were third and fourth respectively.
