‘We Need More Setti Warrens’: IOP Director and Newton Mayor Remembered for Rare Drive to Serve
Captain Goetz received word at the military office yesterday that it is still possible for men who were officers in the army during the war to make applications for commissions in the regular army.
A blank, Form 739 A. G. O., was sent recently by the War Department to every officer who served during the war, and it should be filled out and returned before June 23, by any men who wish to apply for regular army positions. It is possible that some men may have failed to receive these blanks. If so, they should apply for them at the Headquarters of the Northeastern Department, Chauney street, Boston.
In view of the recent Reorganization Bill, which includes a pay increase provision, men might want to reconsider their decision to leave the army. Captain Goetz or Captain Daniels will be glad to give information on this matter, and they may be seen in the Military Office, University Hall, daily.
