Coach Anderson Has Many Promising Matmen Out for Team

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The University wrestling squad of forty men is working every afternoon from 4 to 6 under the direction of Coach Anderson who is developing matmen for the first meet on February 19, with Penn State. The team will be handicapped by the loss at mid-years of Captain J. A. McDonnell '21, University 158-pound champion. Although much of Coach Anderson's material is raw, there are a few men from last years University and freshman teams, among them H. J. Freedman '23, and C. A. C. Eastman '23, captain of last year's Freshman team and heavyweight champion of the University; and J. F. Stearns '22, and R. B. Walker '22 of last year's University team.

Picked teams from the squad have wrestled in two informal matches, the first resulting in a three to two victory over 1922 and the second in a two to one victory over a strong team from the Law School.

The tryouts for permanent positions on the team will be held directly after mid-years, when a new captain must also be elected.
