TEAM READY FOR TRIANGULAR MEET

Limit Set on Number of Men in Each Event--Choose O'Connell and Wheaton for Relay Team

Final practice for the University track team was held yesterday, and the men are all ready for the triangular meet with Dartmouth and Cornell which is to be held in Mechanics Building tomorrow afternoon. Since the number of entries in most of the events are limited to two or three men, Coach Bingham has had a difficult job in picking the runners, and the final choice will not be made until just before the races.

In the 40-yard dash, E. O. Gourdin '21, Vincent Chapin '23, and R. D. Howard '23 are the best men, but only two of these will start the race. Final trials for the hurdles were not held until late yesterday, and C. R. Hauers ocC, was chosen to be the running made of R. S. Whitney '22, the Crimson mainstay in the fights. The two men who are to run the 300-yard dash will be picked from among E. O. Gourdin '21, Vinton Chapin '23, Richard Chute '22 and S. B. Chase '22. Gourdin and Chute look like the logical entries, although one of the other men may be chosen. Bayard Wharton '22, E. T. Doherty '22, A. H. Gordon '23 and J. W. Quinn '23 are the possible entries in the 600, but at present it looks as if Wheaton and Quinn have a slight advantage over the others. W. C. Bonnets '23, F. G. Bemis '22 and H. G. Davis '21 will probably run in the 1000.

O'Connell and Wheaton on Relay

Captain D. F. O'Connell heads the list of the mile runners, and from all indications he should head them at the finish tomorrow. The relay team is hard to pick. Captain O'Connell will surely run, and Wheaton will probably be picked for lead-off man. Who the other two men will be is hard to predict, as they will not be chosen until just before the race.

The University's Strongest field events are the pole-vault and the broad-jump. Three men are entered in the pole-vault, R. W. Hardwood ocC., who is expected to get first place, H. r. Davis '23, and T. C. Wales '21, Gourdin, who is one of the best broad-jumpers in this part of the country, is the only man definitely picked to enter this event. P. C. Shepard '21 and E. B. Jourdain '21 will probably be the other entrants. In the high-jump, W. F. Goodell '21 and A. K. Murray '23 are the only men sure to compete. J. R. Tolbert '22, J. F. Brown '22 and G. K. Saxton '23, the Crimson shot-putters, will have a difficult job on their hands in trying to best Shelburne, the Dartmouth giant.
