YEARLINGS TRIM GROTON, 14-0

Victorious Freshmen Elect Percy Jenkins Captain

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

With a defense that allowed no runs and no hits, and an offense that piled up fourteen runs, the Freshmen defeated Groton School at Groton yesterday afternoon. Kenneth Hill, through his brilliant pitching, and Percy Jenkins by his all around playing started for the Freshmen. In one inning every 1924 player had a turn at bat.

After the game, Percy Jenkins from Quincy, Mass., was elected captain. He was a four-letter man at Staunton Military Academy last year, having played on the football, basketball and baseball teams, and run on the track team. He was a regular halfback on the yearling football team last fall, played on the basketball team until a bad ankle forced him to stop, and captained the 1934 relay team during the past winter.
