Today the Freshman football team leaves for its game with Princeton. Heralded, before the season opened, as a coming team of stars, 1926 has had so far a disappointing record. The eleven has been faced in an exaggerated degree with the same obstacle that handicaps freshman athletics every year, the difficulty of moulding an unwieldy mass of material into a synchronized, smooth working machine. The Freshmen have shown flashes of great power but little capacity for sustained, coordinated effort.
Tomorrow, playing away from home against one of the most dangerous rivals, the team has every opportunity to find itself. The University, looking over its defences for the great struggle here in Cambridge, pauses to wish the Freshmen every success at Princeton.
