Harvard Students To Vote on Divestment From Israel in Inaugural HUA Election Survey
Thirty-two candidates for the University basketball squad reported in Hemenway Gymnasium yesterday afternoon for the first meeting and practice of the season.
Coach Wachter and Captain Lewis Gordon '24 talked to the men, after which there was practice in long and short passing, dribbling, and catching the ball in various positions. Work for the first week or two will consist of drill in the rudiments of the game. The first game is scheduled for December 15 with St. Michael's College.
More candidates are wanted, especially for center, the position left vacant by the ineligibility of R. W. Fitts '23. Coach Wachter specially hopes for football men, after they have had a week's rest.
At 8.15 o'clock next Friday evening, there will be an exhibition game at Hemenway Gymnasium under the auspices of the Eastern Massachusetts Board of Basketball Officials, in which the applications of the new rules will be demonstrated.
More candidates for second assistant and Freshman manager are wanted. Men reporting today at 3 o'clock in Hemenway Gymnasium will be under no handicap.
