LACROSSE LEAGUE MEETS

Representatives from ten colleges were present at the annual meeting of the Intercollegiate Lacrosse League, which was held on Saturday at the Hotel Pennsylvania, New York.

It was decided not to admit Rutgers and Pennsylvania State to full membership in the league, although both colleges were unanimously granted associate memberships.

The exclusion of the two colleges was not due to the standing of the teams, but to the wish to confine the sectional games to a limited area. The location of Pennsylvania State is such that games there would require too much time and expense.

Rutgers was denied complete admission because the members of the Southern Division held that this would prevent the admission of Princeton, which would be more desirable. The representatives from Yale and the University expressed the wish that Princeton join the Northern Division, but the southern colleges were opposed to the formation of any such combination as exists in football.

The meeting also passed certain proposed amendments to the constitution and by laws of the league and elected its officers for 1923.

The University was represented by V. D. Field '23, manager of lacrosse, and by C. R. Marsters '07.
