GLEE CLUB AGAIN WINS COLLEGE COMPETITION

By virtue of her impressive triumph over nine other undergraduate choruses at Carnegie Hall on Saturday evening, the Harvard Glee Club for the fourth time won the first leg on the second prize cup offered for intercollegiate competition.

This new challenge cup, presented by the University Glee Club of New York, must be won three times by one college, after which it will become the permanent property of that college.

Ten college clubs, composed each of 30 picked men, were entered in the competition, and, according to the rules of the contest, sang in turn one light song, one college song, and one prize song, the latter being rendered in succession by each club. The University's selections were; for the light song, "Dainty, Fine, Sweet Nymph" by Morley; and for the college air, "Up the Street". "Give a Rouse", by Bantock, was sung by all the competing colleges as the Prize selection.

The decision was made by Mr. Walter Damrosch, conductor of the New York Symphony Orchestra; Mr. Henry Hadley, associate conductor of the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, and Mr. George W. Chadwick, conductor of the New England Conservatory of Music at Boston.
