CHAPIN WINS UNION VICE-PRESIDENCY

To be Chairman of Undergraduate Committee--Will Act on Governing Board and Preside at Meetings

Vinton Chapin '23 of Boston was elected Vice-President of the Union yesterday by a decisive majority, receiving 267 out of the 444 votes cast. H. W. Clark '23 received 123 votes, and R. E. Anderson Jr. '23, 54.

Chapin is a graduate of St. Mark's. In his Freshman year he was president of his class and won his numerals in football and track. Last year he served on the Undergraduate Committee of the Union and was on the football and track squads. Last fall he won his football letter, and this spring is again on the track squad.

As Vice-President of the Union he becomes, ex-officio, a member of the Governing Board, and chairman of the Undergraduate Committee. With the help of this committee, he will consider all recommendations and complaints received from students in the University concerning the management of the Union. It will be his duty to preside at Union meetings and dinners, and to introduce speakers.
