1926 FOOTBALL BEGINS

Record Squad of 117 Reports to Coach Snow on Soldiers Field---First Day's Work Is Elementary

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The initial practice for 1926 football men took place yesterday afternoon at 3.30 o'clock on Soldiers Field.

Outnumbering even last season's record first-day attendance, the Freshman candidates reporting to Coach W. B. Snow '18 totalled 117, which together with the men expected to report during the next few days should form one of the largest yearling turn-outs in recent years.

The work for the first day was strictly elementary in character, Coach Snow having the assistance of C. A. Tierney '22 and A. J. Conlon '22 in putting his charges through a thorough conditioning drill. Falling on the ball and a series of short sprints for the backfield candidates completed the afternoon's program.
