LIVE UPDATES: Pro-Palestine Protesters Begin Encampment in Harvard Yard
With Captain A. L. Coburn '24 of the University cross-country team out for ten days on account of a pulled tendon, and the powers of the Middlebury team untried, the outcome of the Harvard Middlebury cross-country meet at Belmont tomorrow afternoon is a matter of speculation. If the members of the 1926 record breaking Freshman team perform as well on the six-mile course tomorrow as they did over the three-mile distance last year Coach Farrell will have no cause for worry. Of the ten men who will start the meet for the University, six are members of last year's Freshman team-J. N. Watters, J. W. Grossman, R. M. Parker, L. B. R. Barker, R. B. Doyce, H. R. Kobes, and F. P. Kane; while W. F. Chapin '28, B. S. Pray '25 and B. R. Cutcheon '25, are the only men who saw service over the long course last year. The dark horse of the team will be W. C. Harrison '25, who, although he had never run cross-country before, placed fourth in the time trials on October 6. His performance tomorrow will be watched with interest by Coach Farrell.
A few minutes after the University teams have left the start at the Homer Grammar School in Belmont, the Freshman runners will line up to start against the Middlebury Freshmen over the three-mile course. Harvard Freshmen who are expected to aid in the scoring are; B. V. Swede M. G. Bhaw, H. L. Smythe, H. B. Phillip and Edward Gorden, all of whom did well in the Freshman time trials last Saturday.
