YALE AND PRINCETON ARE STRONG FAVORITES TODAY

Dartmouth-Maine Contest Will be Close While Tufts and Brown Should Take Measure of Conn. Aggies and Colby

Yale and Princeton enter their gridiron battles this afternoon favorites, but neither are taking chances with their opponents. Yale is sending her strongest team on the field to quell the North Carolina attack.

In the backfield Newell Neidlinger will not be found at the quarterback's position because of a muscle injury, which he recently sustained. In his place will be the dependable Lyle Richeson, former half-back of Tulane, who will be supported in the backfield by Mallory, William Neal, and O'Hearn. Mallory, who has been on the injured list this week, will start, but he will play but one half at most.

Coach Jones finds himself sadly lacking in experienced guards, but he sends two unbeatable tackles on the field, Miller and Dillon.

North Carolina, which has had Yale coaches for many years, was last year defeated by the blue 18-0.

Princeton faces Johns-Hopkins with a pair of dependable wings and three of its 1922 backfield. But although the Orange and Black shine most brilliantly at the ends and in the ball carrying department, it appears very weak on its line.

The Dartmouth-Maine contest promises to be close, since the pine-staters have shown distinct power despite their defeat at the hand of Vermont last week. On the other hand Dartmouth showed none too much power in its 14-0 victory over Norwich. Even Coach Hawley of the green expects a fight which begins with the odds even.

The aggressive Tuft's team enters the Tuft's Oval against the Connecticut Agricultural evelen, minus its star quarterback; Karl Etleman, with injuries which he sustained last Saturday in the game against Lowell Textile. George Perry of Lawrence will fill his position.

The Brown Bears hope to again defeat Colby, when they encounter the latter this afternoon in Providence, Rhode Island.

Middlebury College, which last week overcame New Hampshire 21-0 and which is scheduled to meet the University next week, will play Union this afternoon at Midlebury.
