The Freshman squash racquets tournament by which the eight members of the Freshman squash racquets team are to be selected will start today in the Freshman Gymnasium.
A tournament card is now posted giving the details of the competition. Thirty four men have been paired for the preliminary round, which with the first round must be played off today. Tomorrow the second round will be played off and the eight winning players will enter the semifinal and final rounds next week.
The eight winning players in the second round will become automatically the Freshman squash racquets team. A schedule of outside matches is now waiting the approval of the Athletic Committee. Regular practice will be held during November under the direction of Coach Harry Cowles to prepare for the first scheduled meet on December 1.
The eight players who have been seeded for the Freshman tournament are: H. N. Rawlins Jr., R. B. Merriman. H. Derahm, S. W. Derahm, H. B. Jackson, H. Bowker. L. H. Gordon and P. N. Lenhart.
All competitors will be able to sign up for squash courts at 8.45 o'clock
