BASKETBALL CANDIDATES WILL START PRACTICE

SCHEDULES FOR COMING SEASON ARE ANNOUNCED

The University basketball team will open its season on the evening of November 26 with a meeting of all candidates for the team. Practice will begin the next day in preparation for the opening game with Clarke University on December 15.

Of the eight first string players of last season, but four remain. A.W. Samborski '25, I.G. Black '24, and J.L. Rudofsky '24, all guards, and Captain Lewis Gordon '24, a forward.

The 1926 team presents two men of brilliance, W.T. Smith '26, a forward, and J.L. Combs '26, a guard. Other members of that team who will be out for the University team are H.R. Jones '26, J.J. Maher '26, and C.J. Rauh '26. Two of last year's second string forwards on the University team also show promise, D.H. Stevens '24 and Samson Merriam '25, both forwards. Around these men Coach Wachter hopes to build a a strong team.

The Freshman basketball season will get under way at a meeting in the Freshman gymnasium at 5 o'clock next Monday afternoon.

At this meeting University Coach Wachter will explain the system used at the University, and S.B. Chase 3L, coach of the Freshman team for the second year, will outline the season. Freshman practice will begin the day after, on November 20, and will continue until Christmas.

The Freshman manager ship competition will begin the same day with a meeting at 1.05 o'clock in Stoughton 15, and will continue until the week before mid-years. The second-assistant manager ship competition will begin January 2 and will last through the second Yale game. The competitions are seven and one-half weeks and nine and one-half weeks respectively.

The recently announced schedules for University and Freshman follow. All those not otherwise indicated will be played at Cambridge.
