WILL USE "HARVARD'S OWN" THIS AFTERNOON

New Song by Band Leader Will Also be Sung at Princeton--"Ten Thousand Men of Harvard" not Well Known

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Men who expect to attend either the football rally in the Stadium this afternoon or the Princeton game Saturday will find useful the two songs printed below, both of which will be sung in the Stadium-today and by those in the Harvard stands, Saturday. "Harvard's Own" was recently composed by A. S. Simmons '24, leader of the band, and "Ten Thousand Men of Harvard", although old, is not well known among the undergraduates.

Harvard's Own

The Harvard throng is marching,

Thund'rous are the voices;

A hundred thousand footsteps

Sound in measured tread.

All Harvard's sons are gath'ring

On Harvard's day of triumph;

The Crimson banners flourish

Above fair Harvard's gates.

Trio:

They tell in song, and story:

Harvard's Own hold sway;

The Crimson team advances,

Fights to win the fray.

A blazing Crimson sunset

Floods the closing day;

A shout! A roar! A touchdown!

Harvard wins today.

Ten Thousand Men of Harvard

For years past the teams of Crimson

Have won triumph after triumph from her foe.

Her glory has ne'er diminished;

To defeat, the men of Crimson cannot go.

Then vict'ry must now be certain,

For the loyal sons of Harvard know no fear.

All rise for Harvard and we'll give her cheer on cheer.

Chorus:

Ten thousand men of Harvard want vict'ry today,

For they know that o'er poor Eli,

Fair Harvard holds sway;

So then we'll conquer old Eli's men.

And when the game ends we'll sing again:

Ten thousand men of Harvard gained vict'ry today.
