The Harvard Dramatic Club plans to present as benefit performances, two of its former plays at Brattle Hall in Cambridge. On Monday evening, April 9, "Beranger" by Sacha Guitry will be presented, and on Tuesday evening, April 10. "The Life of Man" by Leonid Androyeff. The Dramatic Club has given both plays before, the former in the spring of 1922, and the latter last fall.

All proceeds from the two performances will be given over to the American Field Service fellowships for American students. These fellowships are awarded to students selected from American colleges and universities for advanced study in France. The fund was started through Monsieur Clemenceau, who contributed to it the proceeds of his recent lecture tour in this country. The endowment at present supports some twelve fellowships. Out of the sixty-five students who have been sent to France in the past three years, seventeen already hold full or assistant professorships in American universities.

In "The Life of Man", Andreyeff writes grippingly and unforgetably of the life of any man, revealing its moments of despair, its failures, its triumphs, and the final disillusionment. The play is set in the new manner of the theatre, and special music aids in establishing background.

Sacha Guitry's "Beranger" is in direct contrast to "The Life of Man", being of a lighter character. Guitry pictures biographically the life of the famous poet, Beranger, with all his pleasures and his conflict with Talleyrand. The play has been translated by Howard Phillips '23 without detracting from its wit or vigor.

Tickets for both performances are now on sale at Herrick's, Leavitt and Peirce's and the Harvard Cooperative Society. The price will be $3.00 in the orchestra and $2.00 in the balcony.

An undergraduate advisory committee has been appointed to assist the club during these performances in raising funds for the fellowships. R. C. Burrell '24, president of the club, will act as chairman. The rest of the committee is as follows: C. C. Buell '23, R. P. Bullard '24, R. F. Bradford '23, Oliver Cope '23, J. D. DuBois '24, J. McK. Kimball '24, J. C. Lamont '24, H. C. Lodge Jr. '24, Sheridan Logan '23, Charlton MacVeagh '24, F. H. Nichols '24, George Owen Jr. '23, H. F. Potter '24, H. H. Reed '23, F. A. O. Schwarz '24.
