MAY APPLY FOR SIGMA XI AWARDS

Today is the last day for turning in applications for the Sigma XI Society fellowships, which will be awarded on May 18 to advanced students in Physics, Chemistry, Medical Sciences, Psychology, and other fields of a similar nature. Applications filed as late as today will be considered only if they include reprints of the applicant's published work, letters from men competent to pronounce upon the ability of the candidate, a statement of the work which the student proposes to do on the award and of the place where it will be done.

The Sigma XI Society has recently created these fellowships of a minimum value of $1200 for the promotion of research in America. They are intended primarily for men who have already taken their doctor's degree, but any man or woman who has done advanced research work is eligible.

Applications for these fellowships will be addressed to Dean Edward Ellery, Union College, Schenectady, New York.
