Twenty-six Crimson track men, with Coaches Martin, Farrell, and Mikkola, and Manager Bickford, will leave at I o'clock this afternoon for Philadelphia where tomorrow and Saturday they will compete in the annual intercollegiate contests. Last night Manager Chandler went to Philadelphia to make the final arrangements for the squad. The Crimson representation will not be completed until tomorrow when the five two-milers in whose event there are no preliminaries will leave Cambridge.
Because of the very large number of entries, it is difficult to make accurate predictions concerning the outcome of the meet, or of the places, which the Crimson athletes may be able to win. The California team, which last year captured the title mainly through its strength in the field events, will again be a strong competitor for the championship, but will encounter some very powerful opposition form several of the eastern colleges.
