FRESHMAN BUSINESS COMPETITION OPENS MAY 8

Crimson Candidates Called for Five Weeks This Spring and Six Next Fall--Experience Not Necessary

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The third Crimson business competition open to members of the class of 1926 will begin on Tuesday, May 8, at 7 o'clock in the business office of the Crimson Building, 14 Plympton Street. This competition will last for five weeks this term, and will continue for six more next fall. There will be practically no work during the final examinations, and no work during the summer. Candidates will not be required to return before the vacation is over. Work at the outset will consist mainly of soliciting advertisements, besides a small amount of clerical work, for which no previous experience is necessary.

Besides an opportunity to compete for higher offices on the Crimson Board for successful candidates, a vast amount of business experience may be obtained in this competition. Through soliciting advertising it will be possible to build up a large acquaintance among business men in and around Boston, which will be of great benefit to a candidate in later life. The months of May, October, and November are particularly good for advertising, especially when business conditions are on the up-grade, as they are at the present.

J. R. P. Nason '24, Business Manager of the Crimson, will open the meeting with a brief description of the work required of the candidates, and he will be followed by H. N. Pratt '24, the Advertising Manager, who will give suggestions to the candidates on methods of soliciting advertising.
