STIFF COMPETITION FOR 1926 EXPECTED AT EXETER

Schoolboys Strong in Quarter, Half and Mile--Freshmen Aided by Return of Relay Runners Absent Last Week

In its second meet of the season the Freshman track team will meet the strong Exeter squad on its home track this afternoon. Nearly 40 yearlings will go with Mr. W. J. Bingham '16, the former coach of the University track squads and one of the best quarter milers ever to run on an Exeter team, on the trip to attempt to make up for the defeat which they suffered in Andover last week. The first year team which will compete in today's contest will be much stronger than the Crimson representation in the Andover meet because of the presence of Captain Allen, Broome, Brooks, and Kane, who last Saturday competed in the Penn Relays in Philadelphia.

Last week the Freshmen were notably weak in the dashes, the hurdles, and in the hammer throw, but much work has been done by the coaches on the men in these events, and a great improvement should be shown. In the quarter, half, and mile races today, should gather a large number of points, since last week they made clean sweeps in all of these races without the assistance of the relay quartet.

The strongest Exeter track athletes are Captain Lundell in the quarter, O'Neill in the half, Eliott in the high hurdles, and Driscoll in the weight events. All of these men will give powerful opposition to the Freshman aspirants to first place honors in these contests.
