Opening the 1924 season after five weeks of preliminary practice, the University wrestling team, chosen by Wednesday's final trials, will face Columbia in New York this afternoon. The Blue and White matmen opened their season auspiciously by overwhelming Syracuse, 21-5, last week.
Only one member of the Crimson team that lost last year's meet with Columbia, 16-11, will be in action today. George Karelitz '24, who defeated Donahue last year, will oppose Brennan in the 145-pound class. Three of Columbia's 1923 team will face the University for the second time, Captain Parsonnet, Reisner, and Johnson, last year's captain and intercollegiate 158 pound champion.
